EV B9 ARTICHOKE - Purifying, normalising, revitalising
SCIENTIFIC NAME OF THE PLANT: CYNARA SCOLIMUS. BOTANIC FAMILY: ASTERACEAE
PART USED: LEAVES AND RHIZOME. ORIGIN: a plant with a strong rhizome from which the basic leaves and stems grow up to one metre high. The heads with the flowers that are not open yet are the artichokes that normally are used in the kitchen. For medical and herbal use the leaves, rhizome and roots are generally used.
Properties and indications: thanks to its purifying and bio-activating properties for the skin, the Artichoke extract is used to re-balance intoxicated skins due to digestive, hepatic or circulatory problems.
It is also used for depurative compresses to be applied directly on the liver area.
It stimulates diuresis, lowers the quantity of cholesterol in the blood, promotes the secretion of bile, protects and detoxifies the liver. This purifying action helps maintain skin healthy and bright.
